Degree Requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at the 300/400 level from Mayville State. In addition to Essential Studies, core requirements, students must also complete a required minor. Online minor options include: AccountingBusiness AdministrationGeneral ScienceCommunicationSociologyLibrary Media and Information Science, and more.  Students will work with their academic advisor to explore minor options to complement their career goals.

Students with a previously earned bachelor's degree must complete the degree prerequisites, core requirements and have 30 credits earned from Mayville State University.

Mayville State’s faculty have specialized backgrounds in English and can provide students with an advanced understanding of their coursework. Small online class sizes allow students to converse with their peers and instructor, providing the best possible atmosphere for analysis and criticism of literature and enhanced written expression. Students have opportunities to voice their thoughts and opinions in class, providing them with communication and analytical skills transferable to several careers. Students have access to the MSU Writing Center that provides tutoring support for their coursework.

Mayville State online and distance courses cost $337.25 per credit (2023-2024) for tuition and fees, regardless of the state of residency. Please note, college tuition is subject to change without notice. Financial aid is available in the form of grants and loans.
