The 1990 Mayville State football team claimed the title of North Dakota College Athletic Conference Co-Champion, with an 8-1 season record. Not since 1965 had Mayville State boasted as successful a football season. The Comets were led by head coach Michael Moore, and assistant coaches Dave Dakken, Joel Gullickson, Dan Jorgensen, Jay DeCann, and Andy Heitkamp. In addition to an outstanding team effort, several team members received recognition for their individual achievements.
