Students who achieved the requirements for graduation in the fall semester of 2024, as well as those who will complete their graduation requirements in the spring semester and summer session of 2025, are invited to participate in Mayville State’s commencement exercises on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.

Graduation Brunch
The Alumni Association invites all graduates and their families to join them in celebrating with the new graduates at their first official alumni event, the traditional Graduation Brunch. The brunch will be served in the Campus Center Luckasen Room. This event is being provided free of charge for graduates and their families, compliments of Bell Bank. Reservations are required. MSU Bookstore
Don't forget to order your cap, gown, and announcements!
The MSU Bookstore will help you get set up with your cap and gown and the appropriate regalia needed by graduates participating in the commencement ceremony. They also have announcements available, so you can invite your friends and family to join in the celebration. Stop by the Bookstore to purchase what you need, or click here to place your order online.
The Bookstore will be open Friday, May 16 for the shopping convenience of all graduates and their guests.
Assembly Process
Plan to arrive at the Wellness Center gym at least 60 minutes before the official starting time to allow for the assembly process.
Since there are no secure areas to leave personal belongings, it is recommended that jackets, purses and other personal items be left with family or friends. Be sure to wear low-heeled, comfortable shoes since you will be marching and standing a good part of the day.
Upon arrival, all degree candidates should follow this procedure:
• Report to the Wellness Center gym any time after 11:30 a.m., but no later than 12 p.m. Check in to receive your name card and instructions. A copy of the commencement program will be on your chair in the fieldhouse.
• Line up and be ready for the processional 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony.
• The president will lead you from the assembly area into the fieldhouse approximately five minutes prior to the beginning of commencement.
• You will be directed to your assigned seating and will remain standing until directed to be seated.

Commencement Etiquette
University commencement ceremonies are special events for all involved. If you choose to participate, please remain for the entire ceremony.
Electronic Devices
As a courtesy to those around you and to our graduating students, please turn off pagers and cellular phones during the ceremony. We also ask that you refrain from using extreme noisemakers.
Photography
Jacobson Studio of Mayville will take professional photographs of all graduates between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Wellness Center gymnasium.
In addition, a photographer from Jacobson Studio will take a picture of each candidate while receiving the diploma cover from the president during the commencement ceremony.
A few weeks after the ceremony, a proof of these photos and an order form will be mailed to each graduate. At that time, you may order pictures if desired. This service is provided to ensure quality photographs and to avoid the confusion of many individuals attempting to position themselves for picture taking. Jacobson Studio will also post pictures of the entire ceremony on their website a few weeks after the event. Photos will be available for purchase at http://www.jacobsonstudio.store.
