Amanda Haugland of Devils Lake, ND, is currently enrolled in the Distance Learning program at Mayville State University!  She is pursuing a double major and will receive Bachelor degrees in both Psychology and Elementary Education.  “I started working at Tate Topa Tribal Elementary School and realized I loved working with children and teaching!”

meet-amanda.jpgAmanda decided to earn her degree online because it fit well with her lifestyle.  “I have 7 children at home. My youngest is 2 and my oldest is 13. I need to be able to be there for them. I also work full-time at Tate Topa Tribal Elementary School as well as part-time at Lake Region Corporation in Devils Lake, ND. It would be too difficult to travel from Mayville State to Devils Lake all the time. I also have my support network in Mayville.”

If you were to ask her, Amanda will tell you that she’s beyond excited to graduate in just a few short months. “My plans are to be a teacher at Tate Topa Tribal Elementary School.  I also will be working on my kindergarten endorsement.”

The Office of Extended learning would like to wish Amanda all the best after graduation!
