The 44th Annual Mayville State University Golf Classic is scheduled for June 14 and 15, 2019 at Forest Hills Golf & RV Resort, 22931 185th St., Detroit Lakes, Minn. (Three miles west of D.L. on Hwy. 10). Registration deadline for golfers is Friday, June 1.
Each year, alumni and friends from across the country make Detroit Lakes and the MSU Golf Classic their destination in June for golfing, making new friendships, and renewing old friendships. Women are encouraged to participate in the Friday and Saturday golf events! If you don't play golf, just come out and visit, participate in the Friday afternoon scholarship event, and enjoy the weekend.

CAC 4-Person Best-Ball Scramble - Friday, June 14
The weekend kicks off with a 4-person scramble. Procees of the scramble go to Comet Athletic Club, providing scholarships for Mayville State student athletes. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14. Presentation of prizes for scramble golfers will begin at 2:30 p.m. A buffet, which includes an expanded menu, will open at 2:30 p.m., as well. Friday and Saturday golfers are invited to eat. Cost of the buffet is included in the registration fee.
Scholarship Event & Social
The traditional scholarship fund-raising event will begin at Forest Hills at 3:00 p.m. Please be sure to get your groups together in advance. All friends and alumni of Mayville State are invited to participate in this annual get-together.
The MSU Classic Medal Play Tournament - Saturday, June 15
The Mayville State University Alumni Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday, June 15. It is the oldest medal play university alumni golf tournament in the world, and will be held for the first time at Forest Hills Golf Course, Detroit Lakes. Shotgun start is at 10 a.m. Presentation of prizes begins at 3:00 p.m.
Information for the 2019 Saturday Event
Senior Flight (age 65 and older)
- Participation is on a volunteer basis.
- Handicaps will be based on up to four previous tournament scores, depending on how many years the golfer has previously participated.
- Golfers in this flight will also participate in the business meeting on Friday.
- Participants will be eligible to win prizes similar to those awarded in all other flights.
- All golfers will begin as rookies with no established handicaps.
- Handicaps will be established after the initial year of participation.
