Gunnar Petersen is a freshman from Mayville, N.D. He is pursuing a degree in Mayville State’s new Agribusiness program. In the future, he hopes to sell insurance or continue working for a local farmer. The family atmosphere makes Mayville State stand out for Gunnar. He is the fourth generation of his family to attend Mayville State, which makes being a Comet a little more special for him. He loves that at Mayville State you are a name, not a number, and that everyone gets to know one another. President Van Horn is Gunnar’s Mayville State mentor because “he pushes everyone to become the best person they can be!”
