Mayville State University head softball coach Ashley Tomblin has resigned from her coaching position to pursue an off-campus non-coaching position. Tomblin will remain on the Mayville State University faculty, teaching classes in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Division. Vance Christianson, who has served as an assistant softball coach for the last couple of years has been named interim head softball coach for the spring semester of 2022.

“Coach Tomblin has done an outstanding job as Mayville State’s head softball coach” said Mayville State University President Dr. Brian Van Horn. “The program has enjoyed great success under her leadership and we are grateful for the positive impact she has had at Mayville State. We wish her all the best as she takes a new career path that allows her to spend more time with her family.”

Ashley Tomblin graduated from Mayville State University in 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a physical education major and coaching minor. She was also an outstanding student-athlete who played softball for the Comets. Tomblin became Mayville State’s head softball coach in 2013.
