Mayville State University volleyball, softball, women’s basketball, men’s basketball, baseball, men’s golf, and women’s golf teams have all received the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) Scholar Team award for the 2024-25 academic year. To be eligible, a team must collectively have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0) scale. The GPA of each varsity athlete who is certified as eligible in the sport is included in the calculation. Grades for the fall and spring semesters are used when calculating the team GPA for the year.

The Mayville State teams receiving the NAIA Scholar Team award for 2024-25 and their team GPAs are as follows: volleyball (3.65), softball (3.43), women’s basketball (3.54), men’s basketball (3.31), baseball (3.1), men’s golf (3.35), and women’s golf (3.72). The football team just missed the minimum GPA required for the award with a 2.94 team GPA.

“We are extremely proud of our student athletes for their work both on and off the fields and courts,” said Athletic Director Rocky Larson. “Their outstanding GPAs underscore the importance we place on academics within our athletic department. The members of our teams are students first, and that fact definitely shows.”
