June 7, 2018
The Mayville State University Alumni Association’s eighth annual Alumni Day festivities are planned for Friday, June 22. The events are being held in conjunction with Mayville-Portland’s Summerfest. The MayPort Community Club members are organizing and coordinating Summerfest activities to be held June 20-24.
The public is invited to stop by the Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center any time on June 22. Enjoy a visit and refreshments in the beautiful historic home to the MSU Foundation and Alumni Association. People are also invited to visit the Military Honor Garden located on the grounds south of the Larson Center. The garden is a wonderful tribute to veterans of the armed services.
A guided campus tour will begin from the front of Old Main at 1 p.m. This will be an opportunity to see the many facility improvements that have been made on the Mayville State campus over the last several years, including the recently completed Health, Physical Education, and Recreation expansion and renovation project.
A reception to honor the 2018 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Award recipients will be held at the Larson Center from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to stop by and visit with this year’s honorees. Distinguished Alumni Award recipients will be Keven Dockter and Ray Dusek. Doug Anderson, Debbie Hagen, and Beth Swenson will receive the Distinguished Service Award.
These honorees will receive their awards at the annual Alumni Association Awards Dinner, which will be held in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 each and can be purchased at www.mayvillestate.edu/alumniday or by calling the MSU Foundation, 701-788-4864. RSVP is requested by Wednesday, June 13.
