Mayville State University is partnering with Williston State University (WSC) to bring a four-year bachelor’s degree program in secondary education to the Williston State campus. The partnership, which was recently formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, opens new pathways for students who wish to earn a bachelor’s degree while remaining in Williston. Students may enroll beginning with the Fall Semester of 2025.

Through the collaboration, WSC students can seamlessly transition into Mayville State’s bachelor’s degree program without needing to relocate. The partnership addresses workforce needs in western North Dakota and provides affordable, local access to higher education.

The program will utilize in-person, hybrid, and virtual learning formats. Students will benefit from joint advising, ensuring a seamless experience from associate to bachelor’s degree program.

Mayville State University President Dr. Brian Van Horn expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “Mayville State University is excited about the opportunity to partner with Williston State College and to expand our renowned education programs to further serve western North Dakota. We have been fortunate to serve many students from the Williston area in the past, and we look forward to a renewed opportunity to provide additional workforce support to this region.”
