Members of Mayville State University’s Collegiate DECA chapter are always up to something good. In honor of the Valentine’s Day holiday, chapter members got together, engaged their creative energies, and made cards to send to local nursing home residents and nurses.

“Everyone deserves to feel loved on Valentine’s Day,” said Collegiate DECA member Brooke Roeges. “It feels good to know that we are doing something, even something small, for others during such a difficult year."

The group’s charming and thoughtful handcrafted greetings were given to residents of the Luther Memorial Home and nurses at Sanford Hospital in Mayville.

Cole Dukart, who has been involved with Collegiate DECA since he was a freshman, is happy about the Valentine’s Day project. “I felt this was a way to show our appreciation for the nurses and the hard work they do, and to send encouragement to the nursing home residents as we are going through these unprecedented times.”

Summing up the group’s gesture of thoughtfulness, chapter president Abby Kohls said, “February is the month of love. We wanted to spread some love and positivity during this difficult time.”
