Like ANOTHER big-time clutch two-minute drill, Comets fans have come through!

For a third time, Mayville State University alumni and friends have stepped up in a big way to exceed the challenge of an anonymous donor who agreed to match all gifts to the football program, up to a total of $20,000. The challenge was issued in mid-September and gifts needed to be committed by Nov. 13, 2021. Together, they raised the $20,000 more! Combined with the matching funds, a total of $40,000 was raised for the Mayville State football program.

“An anonymous $20,000 steps up for a third time and donors hitting that mark for a third time is strong proof that Mayville State Football is on the right track,” said MSU Foundation Executive Director Dr. Lon Jorgensen.

The influx of funding raised in the challenge will assist Comets Head Football Coach Rocky Larson and his staff as they work to recruit and retain quality student athletes for the MSU Comets football team in the fall of 2022. This will be a big boost as Coach Larson and his staff work to keep Comets Football moving in the right direction.

“As a staff and a team, we are overwhelmed and extremely grateful for the support we have from our community, alumni, and friends,” said Rocky Larson. “We will continue to work to put a positive product on the field for our fans.”
