Kortney Carney has been hired as the 2023 assistant volleyball coach at Mayville State University. A native of Moorhead, Minn., she brings a wealth of expertise, leadership, and experience in all areas of offense and defense.
Carney played for two years at the University of North Dakota, earning Summit League Volleyball Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honors twice. Kortney also spent a season at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., where she was a member of the All-Conference and All-Region teams and received National Player of the Week honors.
Mayville State Head Volleyball Coach Katie Aasen is excited about the hiring of Carney and said, “We are grateful for Kortney’s dedication and commitment as she joins our Comet family.”
