Jordan Olson has been selected as head softball coach at Mayville State University. She will officially begin her duties at Mayville State on July 1, 2023.

“I am eager to get our student athletes on campus in the fall and get to work,” said Coach Olson. “My goal is to come in and develop a competitive culture and create an environment where all student athletes can thrive on and off the field. We will have a winning mindset in all that we do, with character being at the forefront of our program.”

Olson has been the head softball coach at Doane University in Crete, Neb. since July of 2020. In addition to serving as head softball coach, she has been a faculty member teaching health sciences and physical education courses. She has also been a board member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and board member and co-founder of Doane Women’s Athletic Council. In 2021, Coach Olson took the team from ninth to fourth in the GPAC.

She was a graduate assistant and assistant coach at Doane University from Jan. of 2013 to Nov. of 2016. From Nov. of 2016 to July 2020, Olson was head softball coach at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.V.

Jordan Olson earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction in education from Doane University in 2016. She is a 2012 graduate of Mayville State University who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education with minors in coaching and adaptive physical education.

“We are very excited that Coach Olson is returning to her alma mater as head softball coach,” said Mayville State President Dr. Brian Van Horn. “Her experience in recruiting and mentoring high quality student athletes will serve her well at Mayville State. We look forward to having her back at ‘home.’”
