Jessi Hegg, Mayville State Child Development Programs Program Director and 2009 Mayville State graduate, is a member of the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction Family Engagement Cabinet. The mission of the group is to provide a safe space that allows members from all over the state to share their experiences as parents, guardians, caretakers, and/or educators with State Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler. The Cabinet shares advice, ideas, and opinions about how North Dakota families and schools can better work together to support the education of all children. The group met recently in Bismarck for their quarterly meeting.
Cabinet members serve an 18-month term. The 20024-2025 members are Shelley Ackerman, Tioga; DeAnn Bjornson, Fargo; Heather Chatham, Grand Forks; Courtney Davis, Grand Forks; Heidi Domier, Casselton (2004 Mayville State graduate); Donna Epperson, Minot; Jacqueline Frost-Hodney, Lankin; Sarah Gackle, Kulm; Jessi Hegg, Reynold; Suzanne Kilichowski, Minto; Stacy Kilwein, Dickinson; Mike McHugh, Mandan; Melissa Mitzel, Bismarck; Carolyn Morowski, Dickinson; Amy Peterson, Mandan; Jason Rohr, Jamestown; Melissa Sagness, Bowbells; Brooklyn Schaan, Washburn; Richard Smith, Dickinson; Chantel Southam, Sherwood; Jennifer Wallender, Hazen; The current term is January 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
