College_Signing_Day_at_FSPS.jpgTuesday, April 26 was national College Signing Day, a day that is part of the Reach Higher initiative of First Lady Michelle Obama. Likened to signing days for high school athletes who will play sports in college, this signing day was established to help all students mark their moment of declaring their intent to attend college.

Mayville State University enrollment representative Rick Karboviak reached out to Finley-Sharon (N.D.) Public School and celebrated the day with three high school seniors from Finley-Sharon who will attend Mayville State in the fall, Jessica Lee, Jessica Serr, and Lindsey Campbell.

The Reach Higher initiative is the First Lady’s effort to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university. Through the initiative, the First Lady is working to rally the country around the President’s “North Star” goal - that by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.
