Mayville State University’s 2018 Farmers Bowl festivities will start off with the “Farmers Bowl Field Frenzy 5K” race around the beautiful and historic campus of Mayville State. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome. Race time is 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. A majority of the fast out and back race course will be located on the campus, starting and finishing in front of legendary Old Main.

Registration fee is $10 per person. You may register at www.mayvillestate.edu/farmersbowl. The registration fee will be waived for Mayville State University students with official Mayville State identification. Numerous activities are planned for Mayville State University’s annual Farmers Bowl celebration. A parade will make its way through downtown Mayville beginning at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the entrance to Jerome Berg Field. Following the ribbon cutting, people will have a chance to take a look at the newly installed artificial turf football field. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be lots of family-friendly activities outside of Jerome Berg Field. All are invited to the traditional corn and hot dog feed. Freewill donations to help defray expenses will be accepted. In addition, there will be a farmers market, face painting, corn hole games, potato sack races, inflatable games, and more. The Mayville State Comets will take on College of St. Scholastica in the Farmers Bowl football game, beginning at 1 p.m. at Jerome Berg Field. This will be the first Mayville State game to be played on the new turf.
