Enjoy an F-M RedHawks game with your Mayville State friends

We hope you’ll mark your calendar and plan to join your Mayville State friends at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo Wednesday, June 27, Mayville State night with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks! The RedHawks will take on the Texas AirHogs that evening. Game time is 7:02 p.m. Everyone is invited to join us for what is sure to be a fun-filled experience for all.

The festivities will begin at 6 p.m., when the gates at Newman Outdoor Field open. The Mayville State group will be treated to an amazing ballpark experience from the Armadillo Party Pavilion, located down the first base line. The party deck features bar stool seating and picnic tables. Your ticket includes a game ticket, plus all-you-can-eat hot dogs, bratwurst, pulled pork, potato salad, potato chips, pop, and water. The buffet starts when the gates open and is open until one hour after the first pitch. Snacks will be available throughout the game. Twelve ounce draft beers will also be available for $2.00.

Tickets for adults in this exclusive area for the Mayville State group on June 27 sell for $25.00 each. Tickets for children ages 3 to 12 are $15.00 each. Children age two and under will be admitted free of charge.

Mayville State has a rich tradition of success in the game of baseball. We’re very proud of our Comets! It is fitting that we would celebrate the game of baseball with our alumni and friends while watching a game at Newman Outdoor Field, a field named for former Mayville resident and Mayville State student, the late Harold Newman. To top it off, former Comets Dave Meyer and Brad Anderson went on to play with the RedHawks for a time.

Tickets for the game and pre-game picnic are limited and will go fast! To purchase yours, go to www.mayvillestate.edu/redhawks or call the MSU Foundation at 701-788-4864. Don’t delay. You won’t want to miss out on this great opportunity! Tickets must be purchased by June 10. The Mayville State section was filled with Comets at last year’s Mayville State night with the RedHawks. Let’s do it again! It’s a great time to let our Comet pride shine!

Speaking of letting our Comet pride shine, there will be several opportunities for Mayville State alumni and friends to get together this summer.

The MSU Golf Classic will be held at Forest Hills Golf Resort near Detroit Lakes the weekend of June 15 and 16. During this weekend Mayville State folks from across the country get together to visit and/or golf in the Comet Athletic Club Friday golf scramble and the Saturday medal play tournament, the oldest medal play university golf tournament in the world. See the details and register at www.mayvillestate.edu/golfclassic.

Alumni Day festivities are planned for Friday, June 22. Activities will include a campus tour, open house at the Larson Center, and a social to honor this year’s Alumni Association honorees, Keven Dockter, Ray Dusek, Doug Anderson, Debbie Hagen, and Beth Swenson. Awards will be presented at the annual Alumni Association Awards Dinner, which begins at 6 p.m. that evening in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room. Tickets for the dinner sell for $20 and are available at www.mayvillestate.edu/alumniday or by calling the MSU Foundation at 701-788-4864. We invite you to attend the dinner and help us recognize these outstanding individuals who have made an impact at Mayville State and in their own careers and communities.
