With 1,066 students enrolled, Mayville State University’s first-day fall semester headcount has topped the all-time record which was set on the first day of classes in the fall of 2013. This is the latest in Mayville State’s consistent trend in enrollment gains, marking the fifth-straight year in which the University has set a first-day fall semester enrollment record. Mayville State is seeing increases across the board. The number of full-time students enrolled is up by nearly 9.5%. The number of transfer students is up by 16%, and the number of beginning freshmen is at 177, a 31% increase over last year, and the highest number of beginning freshmen enrolled on the first day of fall semester since 2002.

“We are in the midst of a renaissance at Mayville State University,” said Dr. Gary Hagen, MSU President. “Our facilities have been greatly improved and new and innovative programs and modes of instructional delivery have been developed and implemented. We are delighted that the hard work of our faculty and staff is paying off and that more and more students are choosing the Mayville State experience.”

The first-day enrollment numbers are preliminary. Official final Fall Semester 2014 enrollment figures will not be computed until later in September, when all North Dakota University System institutions calculate final enrollment data.

Mayville State University, the nation’s first tablet PC campus, is a personable rural campus. Distance students may enroll as non-degree-seekers or pursue degree programs in business administration; early childhood; mathematics; university studies; and elementary, early childhood, and mathematics education.  A new RN to BSN nursing program began with the fall 2014 semester.
