Comets Men's Basketball Watch Party

The Mayville State men's basketball team pulled off the upset Sunday, Feb. 25 against the Bellevue Bruins on their way to a 97-92 win in the semi-final match-up of the North Star Postseason Tournament. This seets the stage for the NSAA championship game between the Comets and the Dickinson State Blue Hawks. The game will be played at Bellevue, Neb. Monday, Feb. 26, beginning at 7 p.m.
Mayville State and Dickinson State split their two regular season match-ups with Mayville State defending their home court in a 71-58 win on Jan. 20, but lost in Dickinson to the Blue Hawks 71-82 on Dec. 9. The third match-up will be the biggest of the season. The winner of the Feb. 26 NSAA championship will earn an automatic bid to play in the NAIA national tournament on March 7-13 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Comets last appeared in the national tournament in the 2006-07 season.
A live streaming watch party event is planned at the Mayville State University Campus Center Luckasen Room Monday, Feb. 26. The event is open to students, faculty, staff, and the community. There will be snacks and beverages available. Come to watch and cheer on the Comets! Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
