The Mayville State University Music Department ushered in the holiday season with its concert, A Festival of Carols, filling the campus with a festive spirit. The program featured beloved Christmas classics performed by a variety of ensembles, showcasing the talent and dedication of Mayville State’s student musicians, as well as their director and accompanist. Following the concert, guests gathered for a warm and joyful Christmas reception, complete with caroling and intimate small-group performances that added an extra touch of holiday magic.
Mayville State University was honored to host the North Dakota District 4 FFA Leadership Conference on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The event brought vibrant energy to campus as more than 190 middle and high school FFA members gathered along with state FFA officers, school advisors, competition judges, and bus drivers.
All Mayville State students, employees and their families, alumni, friends, and community members are invited to join in the “Light Up the Legacy” event on Tuesday, Dec. 16 to celebrate the renovation of Mayville State’s Old Main. People should gather on the lawn outside the project construction offices located directly across the street from the south side of Old Main. A short program will begin at 5 p.m., when the lighting of the Christmas tree will take place, along with an opportunity to share in festive music and fellowship, and to mark a milestone in the university’s story.
As we approach the new year and make our way closer to the completion of the Old Main transformation, I can’t help but reflect on the past few years and the tremendous support we’ve received from so many to get here. Built more than a century ago, the building’s limitations in offering an inclusive and modern educational experience were clear several years ago.
The Mayville State Alumni Association Board has been up to it again - making the Mayville State experience even better! On Nov. 20, the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room was packed with students who gathered for “Bingo! … with a side of thankfulness,” an evening of fun, prizes, and appreciation. Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the event was more than games of bingo, it was about belonging, gratitude, and supporting our local businesses.
Mayville State University will open late Wednesday, Dec. 10 due to overnight weather and road conditions. Offices open and classes begin at 10 a.m.
