Next Steps After Being Admitted to Mayville State University
Now that you’ve been admitted to Mayville State University you are ready to get started for your first semester! Follow the checklist below and you’ll be ready begin!

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Mayville State’s school code is 002993. If you have any questions or want to ensure your financial aid file is complete with all requirements, don’t hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office or by phone at 701-788-4767.
Paying for school can be a big challenge. We encourage all students to apply for scholarships to assist with completing your degree at Mayville State. Fill out and submit Mayville State University’s Scholarship Application.
Activate Your Student Account
The first step for new students is to activate or claim their North Dakota University System student account. To do so, visit the NDUS Help Desk Account Info page and click on Claim an NDUS Account. Complete step-by-step instructions can be found here to assist you with this process. Your student id number is required for this process and was sent to you with your acceptance letter. If you do not have your student id please call the Office of Admissions, 701-788-4635.
If you are planning to live on campus and to ensure getting hall preference, you will want to submit your application as soon as possible as requests are completed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Complete and submit your Application for On-Campus Housing. You will need to have your student account activated prior to applying for housing.
We encourage all new on-campus students to attend the orientation/registration session on January 7, 2019, as it provides an opportunity for you to become acclimated to the Mayville State campus. This session is available to students to help you learn more about policies, procedures and your college experience at Mayville State. You will have the opportunity to meet other new students, have lunch, talk with an advisor and register for classes. Reserve your spot.
You can find both the current course catalog and schedule of classes on the Mayville State website. If you are still undecided about which major is best suited for you, take a look at all the majors offered to MSU students to help in your decision.
Online/Distance Students: Registration
Review the online/distance courses Class Schedule and set up a time to register with your advisor. You can find both the current course catalog and complete schedule of classes on the Mayville State website.
Give your Mayville State email and Moodle/Blackboard login access a test run at least one week prior to the start of classes. Be sure you have the necessary technology to complete your online classes by using the list of requirements.
If you will have classes in Moodle, please also take some time to practice Moodle and learn about being a Mayville State University Distance Student in the Distance Student Orientation course located within Moodle (MASU DSO--Distance Student Orientation). This optional orientation is available beginning August 6, 2018, and will appear in your list of Moodle courses. It is not required and there is no cost associated with the Distance Student Orientation. However, I encourage you to take some time to work through the orientation.
If you will have classes in Blackboard, please also take some time to practice Blackboard and learn about being a Mayville State University student in the Student Orientation course located in your list of courses within Blackboard. This optional orientation is available beginning August 6, 2018, and will appear in your list of Blackboard courses. It is not required and there is no cost associated with the Student Orientation. However, I encourage you to take some time to work through the orientation.
Please be sure to check your Mayville State University email account at least three to five times per week. All official communication from university departments (financial aid, business office, etc.) and instructors goes to your MSU email. Please see this handout for instructions on logging into your Mayville State email account.

Academic Requirement Report
The Academic Requirements Report (Automated Degree Audit) is a tool available to degree-seeking students and advisors to track degree progress. In essence, this tool allows the student and advisor to see degree progress at any time during the student's academic career. It is interactive and also allows the student to plan for upcoming semesters within the report.
To access, go to www.mayvillestate.edu, and from the quick links menu, click on Academic Records, then click on “Click HERE for How To Instructions and Forms.” Be sure to use your Mayville State University username and password to access the information.
