Mayville State University proudly congratulates alumni Dave Nelson and Mike McCall on their induction into the North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NDIAAA) Hall of Fame. The honor was presented during a special ceremony recognizing their outstanding contributions and leadership in school athletics across the state. The program was held March 29, 2026, in Fargo, N.D.
The NDIAAA is affiliated with the North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders. The organization’s membership includes athletic administrators and school administrators and supports school athletic programs as a vital part of education by promoting ethical standards, sportsmanship, and broad student participation. The organization provides professional development, mentorship, and opportunities to share best practices while working in partnership with the North Dakota High School Activities Association and the North Dakota High School Coaches Association to strengthen school athletics across North Dakota. Induction into the NDIAAA Hall of Fame represents one of the association’s highest honors and reflects a sustained commitment to education-based athletics.
As Hall of Fame inductees, Nelson and McCall will have the opportunity to attend the National Athletic Convention in Arizona this December, where their achievements will be recognized on a national stage along with honorees from across the country.
Their induction continues a strong tradition of Mayville State alumni being recognized by the NDIAAA for leadership and service. Previous NDIAAA Hall of Fame recipients who are Mayville State alumni include Ken Rio, Clint Lein, Jerry Sheldon, John Hutchison, Dave Hanson, Mike Callahan, Randy Vigen, Todd Olson, and Matthew Herman. This is a testament to the university’s lasting impact on athletic administration in North Dakota and beyond. Their accomplishments reflect not only their personal dedication but also the enduring legacy of excellence fostered at Mayville State.
