All Mayville State students, employees and their families, alumni, friends, and community members are invited to join in the “Light Up the Legacy” event on Tuesday, Dec. 16 to celebrate the renovation of Mayville State’s Old Main. People should gather on the lawn outside the project construction offices located directly across the street from the south side of Old Main. A short program will begin at 5 p.m., when the lighting of the Christmas tree will take place, along with an opportunity to share in festive music and fellowship, and to mark a milestone in the university’s story.

All who attend are invited to enjoy a complimentary light meal at the Campus Center immediately following the Old Main tree lighting program. The meal is being provided courtesy of PCL Construction/Community Contractors, Construction Manager at Risk for the Old Main renovation project.

For planning purposes, you are asked to let organizers know if you plan to partake in the meal. To learn more about the event and RSVP for the meal, please visit www.mayvillestate.edu/HolidayCelebration. Questions may be directed to alumni.mail@mayvillestate.edu or 701-788-4750.

The evening will be a celebration of heritage, community, and the bright future that is being built. Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, reminds us of the power of kindness, community, and transformation during the holiday season. Just as Ebenezer Scrooge discovers the true meaning of Christmas through generosity and togetherness, the “Light Up the Legacy” event is a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate the spirit of giving and hope.
