It’s not too late to check out opportunities at Mayville State this summer and fall

Even as we are busy wrapping up the spring semester and the 2022-23 academic year, our eyes are on the future and plans for the summer session, as well as the Fall Semester of 2023. Mayville State offers great opportunities all year long for students of all types who have a wide variety of interest areas and plans.

This week, our advising center organized a student success event for current students. Representatives from financial aid, the business office, campus housing, and dining services were on hand for students who had questions. Students could bring their questions about athletic eligibility, advising, and registration as well. The event provided a “one stop shop” where students could make sure they’re all set for the fall semester.

Before we know it, the spring semester will be finished and the summer session will be underway. Mayville State is offering more than 100 online courses in five-week, eight-week, and 10-week sessions. Students will be able to satisfy essential studies criteria, meet requirements for majors, and/or complete professional certification requirements.

Summer may be a time to relax, but it’s also a good time to look ahead at what comes next academically. Students enrolled in summer courses will experience Mayville State’s personal attention and small class sizes. They’ll be studying and learning in a relaxed and supportive online environment while interacting closely with their professors and classmates.

Registration for the summer session began on March 21 and classes begin May 22. For all the details about summer session at Mayville State, go to www.mayvillestate.edu/summer.

It’s not too late to enroll for the Fall Semester of 2023! Whether a student is transferring from another school or just getting started as a freshman, we make it easy at Mayville State. Navigating the process of enrolling in college can be overwhelming, but our friendly and helpful faculty and staff are eager to assist as students make the transition. We’re excited to welcome new members to the Comets Family!

Mayville State offers some nice scholarship opportunities for students, thanks to the generosity of our alumni and friends.

For example, the Edson and Margaret Larson Foundation has provided generous scholarships for high-achieving upper-level students from North Dakota for several years. This year, they’ve expanded that opportunity for new students who are North Dakota residents. Students with a grade point average of 3.25 or greater could be awarded $2,500 or more in scholarship assistance! We are extremely grateful for the ability to provide this kind of financial assistance that will help North Dakota residents reach their higher education goals.

At Mayville State, student satisfaction is our top priority. On our small campus, students get the personal attention they deserve and expect. Personal service is our specialty. I can’t overstate the important role the community plays in student satisfaction. When asked what they value in their student experience, almost to a student, one of the answers is the community. Whether you’re cheering for our student athletes at their events, greeting them in the businesses, or employing them, you are making a difference in their lives and the overall success of Mayville State University. We appreciate you!

Who do you know that could benefit from the Mayville State Experience? Please encourage them to take a look. Visiting the campus is the best way for students to get a good understanding of what Mayville State University is all about, and right now, the application fee is being waived for those who visit.
