sparkling_affair_jewelry-web.jpg“A Sparkling Affair,” a fund-raising event being held to generate scholarship assistance for Mayville State University students, is planned for Thurs., Feb. 26, 2015 in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room. Those who attend may begin gathering outside the Luckasen Room at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. The event will feature fabulous jewelry prizes, a silent auction, games, and refreshments.

This is the third year for the “A Sparkling Affair.

“We are excited about the positive reaction to ‘A Sparkling Affair’ that we’ve seen for the past two years, and we look forward to another spectacular event this year,” said Dena Bergstrom, MSU Foundation Annual Giving Coordinator/Phonathon Associate and organizer of this year’s “A Sparkling Affair” event.

Riddle’s Jewelry has come on board for a third year as a major sponsor of “A Sparkling Affair.” Riddle’s has donated a three-stone diamond ring (one ct. total weight), a Comet blue ring, and a gold diamond pendant that will be available as grand prizes for those who choose to play the Riddle’s treasure hunt game.

Door prizes will include more than 20 unique and beautiful jewelry items that have been created and donated by Debbie Hagen and Jennifer Kohls of Mayville. The jewelry-crafting duo founded “A Sparkling Affair” in 2013. Their pieces will be given away as door prizes and be a part of the silent auction. In addition, local jewelry crafters Helen Hoyt, Lisa Rakowski, and Shari Schultz have created some very lovely pieces that will be available for sale via silent auction and as prizes given away throughout the evening.

New to “A Sparkling Affair” this year is the “Treat Yourself to a Cupcake” game. Seventy-five Gigi’s cupcakes, each packaged in a special box, will be available for sale at the event. Purchasers will be eager to open their boxes to learn if they have also won one of many wonderful prizes, valued at $35 or more. Prizes will include products from Thirty-One, Herbalife, Essential oils, Paparazzi Accessories, Younique Makeup, Mary Kay, and Pampered Chef, jewelry, a Paul Mitchell flat iron, an America’s Hot Spot tanning package, a gel manicure, a one-hour massage, and baskets of wine, and Jamberry.
