Mayville State University has been named #10 on the College Choice ranking of most affordable online colleges for bachelor’s degrees nationwide. The ranking can be viewed at http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/most-affordable-online-colleges-2016/. The ranking was compiled to help prospective students as they make decisions about colleges in which to enroll.

All regionally accredited schools with at least five online bachelor's degree programs were considered and the total cost of each program was calculated. Often the actual cost of an online education is difficult to determine as many schools incorporate fees not directly tied to tuition. These fees come in a wide range of types and amounts and, when added to the overall cost of attendance, can amount to thousands of dollars. Knowing what these fees are and how they impact the total cost to complete an online bachelor's degree helps potential students make more fully informed decisions.

"With our ranking of most affordable colleges for bachelor's degree programs, we aimed to cut through some of the fog involved in determining the true cost of an online education," said Jeremy Alder, Managing Editor of College Choice.

To come up with the rankings, College Choice took into account total cost (including both tuition and all associated fees), number of online degrees offered, and only considered schools with the highest form of accreditation, regional accreditation. Data came from the websites of the universities listed and from a variety of reputable publications like U.S. News and World Report and the National Center for Educational Statistics.

Mayville State University’s online programs were founded in 2003 and are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission. Mayville State offers eight online bachelor’s degrees. Mayville State University’s tuition for online bachelor’s degrees is $280.00 per credit. There is a one-time application fee of $35.00.
