The public is invited to a Coffee and Conversation event to hear the latest information on Mayville State’s RN to BSN nursing program and to meet Tami Such, MSU’s new nursing program director. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Mayville State University Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center. Refreshments will be served, and everyone is welcome.

Last summer, the State Board of Higher Education granted Mayville State University approval to proceed with an RN to BSN nursing program. Through the new online program, Mayville State will educate nurses at the baccalaureate-degree level in order to equip them to better serve the health care needs of the citizens of North Dakota. The need for nurses is especially great in rural areas.

Classes in Mayville State’s RN to BSN program will begin in the fall of 2014. As many as 24 students may be accepted, and 14 students have been accepted into the nursing program at this time. In addition to the hiring of program director Tami Such, Kari Mathys has been hired as a faculty member, and Shannon Skovlund will serve as administrative coordinator for the nursing program, along with her duties as administrative coordinator for the Division of Science and Mathematics.
