carolyn_baker-web.jpgDr. Carolyn Baker, associate professor of English at Mayville State University, will travel to Habana, Cuba to teach a graduate course for Global University, a school where she has served as a volunteer adjunct professor for 12 years. The course is titled “The Theology of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.” She will be teaching a class of 12 Master of Divinity students, Cuban pastors and ministers, for five days.

Baker will depart for Cuba on September 3, 2016, and return on September 10.

Carolyn Baker, B.A., M.Div., D.Min., M.A., Ph.D., recently earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of North Dakota. In pursuing her degree she earned specializations in early American literature of the 17th century, historical criticism, and the Bible as literature. This is Baker’s second doctoral degree. Her dissertation, “The invocative Use of the Bible’s Power in the Rhetoric of the Transcripts of the Trial of Anne Hutchinson,” is now bound and online.
